Outlaws 2010 Class Rules
COAST CHASSIS DESIGN OUTLAW 10.5 RULES
Body
Vehicle can be any factory produced coupe, sedan, sports
car, truck or sedan delivery. Must retain complete stock roof, quarters, door
jams, pillar post, cowl and firewall. All other body components may be
composite or other light material. They must be in factory dimensions.
Channeling, chopping, sectioning or any other alterations to alter length,
width or height strictly prohibited.
Doors
Must be functional from inside and outside of vehicle. Exact
duplicates in carbon fiber or fiberglass are allowed.
Firewall
Must be in OEM produced location. May be notched for bell
housing, distributor, blower and exhaust. Smoothing of firewall allowed. Must
consist of sheet metal (steel). Firewall may not be completely replaced with
sheet metal. In cases of fiberglass or SMC firewall sheet metal must cover
entire firewall.
Floor
Stock floor may be replaced with .024 steel or .032
aluminum. Driver side floor must be steel. It must extend from firewall to rear
of driver’s seat and must be welded in place. No magnesium may be used in
driver compartment.
Hood and Front End
One-piece liftoff type front end allowed. Hood must be
separate from front fenders and bumper.
Headlights and Tail Lights
Must have functioning headlights and taillights. They must
be in the factory location and must be stock in appearance. Tail light must
function with brakes. Hide-away headlamp style vehicles must have some type of
working headlights, at least behind headlight grill. In case of hidden
headlights that completely fold away with no grills, fog lights may be used.
(Tech decision will be final).
Windshield/Windows
Lexan may be used in place of factory glass. Must be stock
dimension and mount in stock location.
Body Length
Plus or minus 2” from factory dimension.
Front over hang rule: Limited to 42 inches from center line
of front spindle to further point
of front end
Any vehicle with over 42 inch from factory must retain exact
factory overhang dimensions.
Chassis
Back half chassis only. Chassis certification must comply
with the race track and/or sanctioning bodies required guidelines in regards to
speeds and ET's obtained. No full round tube chassis allowed. Back half section
must not extend forward past rear most portion of the K-member or cross member.
Stock frame rails from the firewall forward must be retained with a minimum of
four (4) inches forward of the front engine mounting plate.
Driver location
Must be in stock location. Driver’s shoulder must not be
rearward of forward most portion of b-pillar. (Exception for taller drivers,
allowed by tech decision).
Front Suspension
Stock type and configuration front suspension required. All
lower control arms must bolt to the K-member or cross member. No suspension
component can mount to strut tube or lower mainframe rail. After market
spindles and a-arms allowed. Modifying of shock/strut towers allowed for header
and engine clearance only. Must retain at least 50% of original tower. Upper
strut tube may be graphed in to strut/shock tower. Spring and or shock may be
relocated (tech decision final).
Nostalgia rule applicable for 1980 and older vehicles
Option 1 OR 2 ONLY:
Option # 1: Factory frame rail must be retained. All other
interstructure and uni-body support may be removed from the firewall forward.
OEM suspension configuration required.
Option # 2: After market bolt in sub-frame allowed. Must
bolt in unaltered
stock OEM mounting locations. OEM suspension configuration
required. These bolt on subframes must be from a manufacture with desiginated
company part numbers and must be produced for the vehicle they were designed
for from the manufacturer
Rear Suspension
Any rear suspension system allowed. A minimum of two (2) hydraulic-shock
absorber. No rigid mounted rear axles allowed.
Ground Clearance
Three inch (3”)
minimum for entire length of vehicle and all components (headers, oil pan,
chassis,etc).
Wheelbase
Maximum of one
inch (1”) plus or minus, from factory dimension.
Engine
Any engine size allowed but must be automotive type. Any
single power adder allowed.
Multiple Power Adder's will be allowed in four (4) cylinder, and six (6)
cylinder applications. NOTE: ORSCA/NHRA
national events (not ORSCA North) will likely limit Turbo's to 94mm and no C
drive Screw Blowers
Exhaust
Must have functional mufflers mounted in the exhaust flow
(cone inserts not allowed) except turbo entries.
Electronics
All electronic devises allowed except optical devises that
work off of tree.
Transmission
Any type transmission allowed. Must have neutral safety
switch.
Wheels and Tires
Must be automotive type designed for racing. Maximum of up to 10.5 with sidewall
designation maximum33x10.5w slick or 13.5 sidewall Designation DOT tire allowed. Maximum tread width of 12
inches roll out 105 inches.
Safety
Must have onboard fire suppression system with secondary
activation switch located at rear of vehicle. One nozzle directed toward
driver, two nozzles in engine compartment directed on engine. Must Have Drivers
suit. Must have gloves, collar, shoes and helmet. Certifications must comply
with track's and or sanctioning bodies requirements as per speeds and ET'S
obtained and type fuel being used. Driver restraint must be equipped with seat
belts that meet race track's and/or sanctioning bodies requirements with two
year maximum from date of manufacture. Master disconnect switch is required.
Must completely shut off all electrical functions. Must be located in plain
view at rear of vehicle. Must be marked “off” or “push off”. (Safety
Recommendation only) Parachute: Two required with separate mounting points.
Minimum shank bolt, ½”. Must have sleeve between tether and bolt in. Roll cage
padding is mandatory.
Interior
Must have stock dash or stock appearing for vehicle.
Composite or other lightweight material allowed. Must have door panels.
Weights
Small Block Nitrous: below 500 cubic inches 2550 lbs.
Small Block Turbo , Supercharger , below 500 cubic inches
2850 lbs
Big block Nitrous
2850 lbs
Big Block Turbo, Supercharger: 3050 lbs.
Big Block Single Centrifugal Supercharger 2900 lbs
ORSCA reservers the right to change weight at any point it
deems necessary for parity in its fields.
ALL combos above 500 cubic inches will be considered Big Block.
General Rules
Courtesy staging always in effect. Deep staging allowed at driver’s risk. Track officials will
not wait for a racer to deep stage. When both pre-stage bulbs are activated,
either side’s stage light will start a 7-second stage count. Failure to
activate stage bulb within 7 seconds will result in disqualification.
(Starter's decision will be final).
ALL OUTLAW 10.5 vehicles must cross scales after every qualifying and
elimination passes.
Disqualification
Disqualification will be based on a first or worst situation.
(Track official decision final). Rules on controversial situations will be
final at the discretion of track and/or tech official.
2010 Outlaw Drag Radial/ Limited Street
Rules
Class Description
ORSCA Outlaw Drag Radial/Limited Street is a heads-up class
designed for street legal type cars from a major manufacturer using approved
radial tires only. Cars will
qualify on a .400 Pro-Tree and eliminations will run on a Pro ladder.
Body
Stock body lines must be retained. MUST BE STOCK APPEARING.
Chopping, channeling, sectioning, or any other alterations to contour,
lengthen, shorten, widen, stretch, or modify any area strictly prohibited.
Fiberglass body panels, hood, bumpers, deck lid and inner fenders are allowed
ONLY. Forward facing hood scoops
are allowed. Lexan front
windshields door glass and rear windshields will be allowed but must retain
stock appearance (NO VISIBLE FASTENERS OF ANY KIND). Factory spoilers allowed. Factory Grill and headlights
required. Stock factory floor pans
required to reach the rear most point of door jam.
Interior
Full interior required. This includes stock appearing dash
and dash pad, and carpet. Rear seat is optional only if area under it is
carpeted. Dash pad may be notched for roll bar clearance.
Front Chassis/Suspension
Stock front frame rails and suspension required. Aftermarket
control arms and bushings allowed as long as they bolt in stock locations. Rack
and Pinion steering allowed. Aftermarket coil over shocks allowed and
aftermarket direct replacement struts are allowed, but must bolt in stock
location with the exception of aftermarket K-member. In the case of K-member
cars, the upper control arm must bolt in stock location, but the K-member and
lower control arms must still be removable. After market bolt in sub-frame allowed. Must bolt in
unaltered stock OEM mounting locations. OEM suspension configuration
required. Bolt on sub-frames must
be from a manufacturer with designated company part numbers and must be
produced for the vehicle they were designed for from the manufacturer. Cross member may be notched for oil pan
clearance.
Wheelbase
Vehicles must
retain factory dimension.
Ride Height
4" Minimum in front of front tires
Rear Chassis/Suspension
Any type rear suspension allowed. Wheelie bars are not
allowed.
Firewall
Stock firewall must be retained and in stock location.
Notching for clearance of bell housing, distributor, supercharger or
inter-cooler allowed. Smoothing of
firewall for appearance is allowed. No part of engine may touch stock position
firewall.
Engine
Any engine combination and power adders allowed. Engine must
be in stock location. Motor plates and solid mounts allowed. Mufflers required
for all cars except turbocharged entries. Turbo exhaust should be directed
toward rear of car. All Nitrous
bottles to be to outside of driver’s compartment or ventilated outside the
driver’s compartment.
No C drive screw blowers allowed.
Single power adder combination ONLY. No Dual power adders allowed.
NOTE: ORSCA/NHRA National events (Not ORSCA
North) will likely limit turbo's to 91mm with no reducers allowed
Transmission
Any OEM type automatic or manual transmissions allowed.
Aftermarket heavy-duty cases allowed. . Air shifters and trans-brakes are
allowed.
Electrical
Stock headlights and tail lights are required and must be
functional. Bracket racing aids, such as optical sensors, delay boxes and
electrical or pneumatic throttle stops are not allowed. Progressive nitrous
controllers and data recorders allowed.
Tires
All cars must compete on one of the following mass produced
Drag Radial tires with the following sidewall designation.
275/60, 295/65, 325/50 or 315/60

All combo's over 500 cubic inches will be considered Big

General Rules
Deep staging will be allowed at driver’s risk. Cars must
cross scales after every qualifying and elimination pass. Tow-backs are
allowed. Electrical stock type headlights and tail lights required and must be
functional.
2010 Extreme 275 Rules
FORMAT: This is an 1/8 mile heads-up class
run on a .400 pro tree with a pro ladder. X275 is a qualified quick 8 field.
Courtesy staging and autostart is in effect. There will also be another class
called “The Shootout” for qualifiers #9-16, and it will be run on a pro ladder.
This allows non-qualifiers to compete for additional points and a place to
race.
Body:
The car must retain its
original appearance, profiles, and dimensions. Factory roof and quarter panels must be used. Aftermarket
fiberglass replacement panels are limited to hood, front fenders, doors,
decklids, and bumpers only. All hoods must
be removable with quarter turn fasteners. All front ends must be of factory
dimensions and cannot be stretched. Aftermarket wings and spoilers are
permitted. Complete stock appearing front and rear bumpers are required. A hood
must cover the entire induction system. Forward facing hood scoops are
permitted.
Interior:
Factory appearing
dashboard, door panels, and driver seat is required. Full Carpet is required on
floorboards. Bare inside frame of car cannot be exposed. Aftermarket steering
column is permitted.
Windshield/Windows: OEM glass or lexan windows are permitted. No visible fasteners.
Chassis:
Complete stock chassis and
frame rails must be retained. Back-halved cars are not permitted. Front core
support may be modified or removed. Aftermarket bolt-on replacement front
K-members are allowed (if front shocks bolt to K-member then they must be in
factory location). Mini tubs are allowed. Rear frame rails may be notched for
clearance.
Engine:
Maximum displacement for
all engines is 588ci. Small blocks are allowed any deck height. GM Big Blocks
are limited to a 10.2 deck height. Ford Big Blocks are limited to a 10.3 deck height.
Mopar Big Blocks are limited to a 10.7 deck height.
Turbochargers: Turbochargers
are measured at the inducer wheel diameter at the point where the leading edge
of the compressor wheel meets the inlet housing. Any type intercooler is permitted. Cannot
combine with nitrous oxide except on 2-rotor,
4-cylinder, and 6-cylinder cars.
Superchargers: Cog or gear driven superchargers are permitted. Any type
intercooler is permitted. Cannot combine with nitrous oxide. Roots
superchargers are limited to a 10-71. Centrifugal superchargers are permitted.
Screw superchargers are not permitted.
Nitrous oxide: Small block is permitted to run any type multi-stage nitrous
system (cars equipped with canted valve heads are limited to 2 nitrous stages).
Big blocks are limited to a single stage nitrous system (A single stage fogger
is permitted or if using a single plate then your limited to 1 fuel solenoid, 1
nitrous solenoid, and 1 purge solenoid, purge must exit engine compartment).
Transmission: Any style automatic transmission allowed. Converter driven
planetary transmissions are prohibited. No clutchless manual transmission. Clutch assisted manual transmissions are
permitted on naturally aspirated combinations only. Electric shifters or air
shifters are prohibited.
Induction:
Small Block combinations
may run any type induction. Big Block combinations are limited to a single
carburetor with cast intake.
Oiling
system: Dry sumps are
permitted on all cars.
Exhaust:
Mufflers or inserts are
required on all cars except for turbo cars. Exhaust may exit underneath car or
out the front fenders.
Fuel:
Gasoline only is
permitted. Alcohol or E-85 or other derivatives is prohibited.
Street
equipment: Functional
headlights, taillights and brake lights required. All headlights, brake lights,
marker lights, etc must be on car and not removed for any reason. All vehicles
must be driven to the staging lanes, but may be towed back from their passes
(do not tow to the staging lanes or you will be disqualified).
Suspension:
Stock
style suspension cars only (See weights below for penalty for aftermarket
suspension). Four links are prohibited on all cars. Aftermarket direct
replacement components such as: front control arms, rear control arms, front
coil over shocks, and rear coil over shocks are permitted. Aftermarket rack and
pinion steering allowed. Rear leaf springs, springs, shocks, and coil-overs may
be moved to accommodate tire clearance, and do not need to be mounted in stock
location. Bolt-on or welded sub-frame connectors, rear sway bars, are permitted
on all cars. Wheelie bars are prohibited on all cars. Torque arms are only
permitted on cars that were originally equipped from factory with it.
TIRES: All cars with power adder must compete on a Drag
Radial type tire with the following sidewall designation 275/60/15. Naturally
aspirated cars are permitted to run a 28.0” x 10.5” slick, no “W” tires
permitted.
Minimum Weights: All minimum weights include the
driver.
Naturally Aspirated (small block) 2700 lbs.
Naturally Aspirated (big block with standard deck height and conventional head)
3000 lbs.
Naturally Aspirated (big block with tall deck height and
conventional head) 3100 lbs.
Naturally Aspirated (big block with standard height and big

Nitrous (big block with standard deck height and

Nitrous (big block with tall deck height and conventional
head) 3400 lbs.
Single YSI / F1A Supercharger (small block) 3100 lbs.

Single F1R / Xi Supercharger (small block) 3300 lbs.

Precision Nitrous Tech Index Challenge

General:

index will be 8.50
- At 1/8th mile venues
the index will be 5.50
